NEWS – 10th May 2019
Low Level Walking Group
Ian Close is organising the walks for the Low Level Walking Group and has sent the following information for the first walk on Monday 20th May:-
“Monday, 20th May, Circuit of Loch Muick – 7.5 miles for the full circuit which includes a mile or so of rocky, narrow path and requires crossing a number of shallow burns on duckboard bridges or, alternatively, 6 miles for the straightforward smooth track return walk to Glas Allt Shiel, Royal lodge. Note that “lower level” in this context means not much ascent and descent but the whole route is above 400m and is fairly serious hill country, so boots or approach shoes and appropriate warm and waterproof clothing are essential. I checked the route on Monday and can confirm that (so long as we don’t have 10 days of rain!) the burn crossings are all fine. Meet at Kippie 9.30am.”
Subsequent proposed walks include:-
Loch Kinord, Burn o’Vat and Cambus o’May.
Jock’s Road to Loch Callater return.
Glen Dye – Charr Bothy circuit.
Milton of Crathes to Kippie by Deeside Way.
The social table tennis is proving very popular. They play in Studio 1 at the following times:-
Tuesday Evening 8.15pm to 9.45pm
Thursday Evening 8pm to 9.30pm
All abilities are welcome and as well as great exercise it is also a great way to meet new members with similar interests.
