Skillmill is the first non-motorised treadmill to combine power, speed, stamina and agility training. It is self powered, so the speed and movement is all down to the force you put in. It is a very versatile piece of kit and will target a lot more muscles than your conventional treadmill.
Skillmill is mainly a cardio workout, however it will hit muscles you wouldn’t normally feel on a traditional running machine. It tones your entire posterior chain — which means it also works the glutes, hamstrings and lower back.
Using the Skillmill regularly will massively increase you’re aerobic and anaerobic fitness as well as burning around 30/40% more calories than on the traditional treadmill.
Assisted Dip/Pull Up Machine
This machine is so versatile and suitable for everyone who wants to improve overall strength. By doing assisted pull ups, we target the Latissimus Dorsi muscles (large back muscles) as well as the upper back, biceps and chest muscles. This is a great start to learning how to execute non-assisted pull-ups/chin-ups.
By performing ‘Dips’ we primarily work the triceps, along with the chest and shoulder muscles, by choosing the amount of weight to assist in the upward phase of the exercise.
With the summer holidays drawing to a close we will be introducing our new class timetable. Look out for some new classes from Monday 19th August:
Freestyle Ab’s on Wednesdays at 11.30am with Sarah Gauld
Body Attack on Saturdays at 10.15am with Natalie and Melissa. This class is suitable for all levels of fitness. Your instructor will offer you lo impact to high impact options. Lo impact does not mean lo intensity. Keeping your arm lines and technique strong you can get your heart rate up. Burning lots of calories while toning the muscles. This is an all over body workout that is fun and sports inspired with a little bit of “old skool aerobics”.
Always wanted to try Yoga or Pilates?
