Porsche Club GB runs events through the summer months in each of its 31 regions.
This year PCGB Region 2, Scotland North, decided that it would raise funds for UCAN, an Aberdeen based charity which supports patients and families in Northern Scotland suffering from Urological Cancers, hence UCAN. In addition to these support services, UCAN funded equipment and extra specialist nurses at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary including the first Robotic Surgery system in Scotland (2015) and an MRI Fusion Scanner (2022).
Part of this campaign is a major event showcasing the 75 year history of Porsche production cars (organising an event showcasing the many successful racing models would be too tall an order).
We were fortunate to be given the opportunity to display our cars on the lawn in front of Kippie Lodge.
We will be displaying member cars covering the full range of Porsche cars from a late example of the Porsche 356, designed back in 1947, to the very latest models.
Obviously, the Porsche 911, in continuous production and evolution from 1964 to the present day (8 generations), will figure prominently.
The 924, 928, 944 and 968 ‘trans-axle’ models, produced from 1976 to 1995, will be well represented.
Moving to the more modern ranges, the mid-engined Boxster (introduced in 1996) and its sibling, the Cayman (from 2005), will be on show with four generations of evolution.
Backing these up will be SUVs, the Cayenne (from 2002) and Macan (from 2014).
Finally, there will be a Panamera, the luxury large saloon grand tourer introduced in 2009, and the latest electric Taycan (from 2019)
All of this, and the hospitality** offered by Kippie, are sure to create a great atmosphere and make it a fun day for all the family.
** Hospitality includes
Barbecue
A kids bouncy castle (age restrictions apply)
Face Painter
Magician
Music
There will be a prize draw raising funds for UCAN and awards for member cars based on secret criteria….
